The pictures were taken in late February on a mild winter weekend. Runners, bikers and parents with strollers took to the park to enjoy the break from the cold weather. The Boat Basin is home to New York's Boat People, middle class New Yorkers who maintain their houseboats here. The docks are subsidized and maintained by the city. During the summer sailboats and other small recreational vessels dock also here.
